How Kombaro works
From radar to real table, step by step
Two systems make Kombaro work: the battle flow that gets you into a real match, and the rank system that keeps score.
The battle flow
Five steps from opening the app to a confirmed match.
- 01
Set your status
Go Online, or set yourself to Looking for Battle so nearby players know you're up for a match right now.
- 02
Check the radar
See real players near you — filtered by game and by distance, from 500 m up to 10 km. No exact addresses, ever.
- 03
Send a challenge
Pick an opponent, choose Casual or Ranked. If they accept, you're matched instantly.
- 04
Meet at a public spot
Kombaro suggests a card shop or café nearby — never a private address — and opens a chat just to sort out the details.
- 05
Play, then confirm
Play your match in person. Both players confirm the result, ratings update instantly, and the chat is wiped.
Player status
What each status actually changes — and who can see and challenge you.
Actively wants a match — shows up first on other players' radar.
Around and reachable, but not actively hunting for a game.
Visible, but can't be challenged right now — challenges are blocked automatically.
Invisible on everyone's radar. No one can see or challenge you.
The rank system
Every game has its own independent rating — ⚡ Pokémon TCG, 🔮 Yu-Gi-Oh!, 🏴☠️ One Piece Card Game, 🧙 Magic: The Gathering and ⚔️ Riftbound don't share a ladder. A Ranked match updates it the moment both players confirm the result.
Tiers
City vs. City
Cities are ranked by the average rating of each city's top 5 players — not a raw total. A city with three strong players and a city with one can be compared fairly; simply having more registered players can't out-rank real skill.
